Onelki Garcia struck out eight over the distance as the Chunichi Dragons blanked the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks 3-0 in interleague play on Saturday.
The left-hander Garcia (7-2) gave up three hits and two walks in front of a crowd of 36,243 at Nagoya Dome. It was the second shutout he pitched since joining Chunichi over the winter.
"I'm really glad I pitched my second shutout," he said. "I threw my sliders and changeups well and I think (catcher Shota) Ono helped me out. I'm going to keep doing my best."
