Half a decade has passed since Universal Studios Japan expanded its theme park to include the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, to the delight of bookworms visiting Osaka.
You can stroll through the magical realm any time of year and step into the shoes of characters from the fantasy series by British author J. K. Rowling, but from Nov. 8 onward, the park will be especially bewitching.
The re-creation of Hogwarts Castle will be lit up as part of Hogwarts Magical Night, a show that features a winter version of projection mapping to tell the story of witches and wizards with various special effects.
Those are not the only enchanting marvels, though. Performers dressed as Hogwarts students and holding toy frogs will sing Christmas songs in a mixed choir.
Attendees will be also able to cast a spell on a Christmas tree to make it shine or jiggle its ornaments by waving a magical wand from wand shop Ollivanders. (Yuki Yamauchi)
