Any avid jazz lover in Osaka would not want to miss this chance to enjoy a funk-filled Saturday night.
Funk the Blast! will feature renowned jazz virtuoso Charles “Chazzy” Green, who is known for his contribution to Ray Parker Jr.’s 1984 Billboard No. 1 hit “Ghostbusters.” Influenced by Sonny Stitt and Earth, Wind, and Fire amongst others, Chazzy Green has released three albums: “I Wanna Sax U Up!”, “Street Sax”, and this latest, “The Funky Sax Man,” all of which he had promoted in extensive tours around Japan. Despite having lived in Japan for three years, the musician has not lost his L.A.-bred musical touch, which he honed during his experience working under Ray Parker Jr. and in show-business.
Joined by DJ Matsu and DJ Mika, Chazzy Green will deliver a “Ghostbusters”-themed saxophone session including both groovy and mellow numbers that are sure to make visitors shuffle between the dancefloor and the bar all night. With an entrance fee of ¥3,500, the event will be hosted on Saturday, Nov. 16, starting from 8:15 p.m. at Music & Dining M Bar in the lively Shinsaibashi district of Osaka. Jazzheads deciding to go should bring some extra pocket money as drinks will not be included with the entrance fee.
