J. League second-division club Montedio Yamagata said Saturday that it had terminated the contract of goalkeeper Hayato Nakamura, who was arrested earlier this month for violating child pornography laws.

The 24-year-old Nakamura admitted to the charges after he was arrested for sharing online a pornographic video featuring an underage boy. He was fined ¥300,000 and released.

Montedio club president Toshio Moriya will take a 10 percent pay cut for two months over the scandal while other senior club officials will also have their wages reduced.

Yamagata said in a club statement: "We have spoken to him (Nakamura) in person, and upon his confirmation of the charges we've reached this decision as we realize how big the impact this scandal has had on society."
