Jockey Yutaka Take posted his 4,000th career win on a Japan Racing Association horse Sunday when he cruised to victory in the fourth race at Hanshin Racecourse.

Take crossed the finish line in 1 minute, 26 seconds aboard Meisho Yakushima in the 1,400-meter dirt race for 3-year-old maidens to become the first jockey to win a combined 4,000 races on the JRA, regional and international circuits on JRA-registered horses.

Among his many feats, the 47-year-old Take, who is in his 30th year as a jockey, has won 18 titles as the leading rider in Japan and set a single-season JRA record with 212 wins in 2005.
