Nenad Lalovic, the president of United World Wrestling, on Friday paid glowing tribute to Japan's Kaori Icho after she scored her fourth straight Olympic gold medal in women's freestyle wrestling at the Rio Games.

The 32-year-old Icho defeated Russia's Valeriia Koblova Zholobova in the 58-kg final on Wednesday to become the first female wrestler to win four consecutive Olympic gold medals.

"What (Icho) achieved, in the most difficult sport in the world, it is incredible. Four Olympics to win, that is incredible," Lalovic told a news conference in which the Serb also referred to Icho as a "legend."
