World No. 6 Kei Nishikori will spearhead Japan's Davis Cup team for its upcoming World Group first-round match against Britain as the Japan Tennis Association named its team on Tuesday.

Taro Daniel, ranked 87th in the world, 126th-ranked Yoshihito Nishioka and 238th-ranked Yasutaka Uchiyama were also selected for the March 4-6 tie in Birmingham.

Japan lost in the first round last year while Andy Murray led the British to the title for the first time in 79 years.

Two singles matches will be held on the first day, one doubles match takes place on the second, with two singles rubbers wrapping up the tournament. The first team to win three matches advances.
