Japan Association of Athletics Federations on Saturday notified Russian Tatyana Arkhipova of her suspension from Sunday's Saitama International Marathon after Russia was provisionally banned on Friday from competing for alleged systematic doping.

The 32-year-old Arkhipova, who won the bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics, was one of the overseas guest runners for the inaugural event and has been training in Japan.

The council of the International Association of Athetics Federations held an emergency meeting on Friday and voted on the provisional suspension that keeps Russian track and field athletes out of international competition, which could include next year's Summer Olympics in Brazil.
