Aya Miyama, who captained Nadeshiko Japan to the final of this year's FIFA Women's World Cup, and the team's manager, Norio Sasaki, were among the nominees for awards in women's soccer published by FIFA on Monday.

Miyama was among the 10 nominees for the 2015 FIFA women's World Player of the Year. Three of the last 10, Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo, were on the United States team that crushed Japan 5-2 in this summer's final.

Sasaki previously won the manager's award in 2011, when Japan won the Women's World Cup on penalties over the U.S. He finished second in the balloting in 2012, when Nadeshiko were runnersup to the United States at the London Olympic Games.

The awards will be presented in Zurich in January.
