The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles on Friday announced the acquisition of Mexican infielder Agustin Murillo.
The 33-year-old Murillo, who has been playing with Monterrey in the Mexican League since 2010, joins the Eagles through the end of this season on a ¥10 million deal.
“I’m grateful to Rakuten for giving me this chance in the middle of the season. I will do my best to help Rakuten make the (post-season) Climax Series,” Murillo said in a club statement.
