Two-time defending women's World Cup champion Sara Takanashi won her third competition of the year on Sunday and her first in nearly a month.

Under difficult conditions, Sunday's event was limited to a single round of jumps, with Takanashi landing a 95-meter effort that earned her 121.4 points. American Nita Englund reached her first World Cup podium in second, while World Cup leader Daniela Iraschko of Austria was third.

"All this time my form has been poor, and through that I thought over and over how to improve," Takanashi said. "Amid that, it felt like I saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

"I don't think I was ever happier."

Takanashi's win, her first since Jan. 11 in Sapporo, lifted her into second place in the season standings, with 673 points. Iraschko leads with 782.

Yuki Ito finished seventh and is fifth in the World Cup table with 326 points.
