Urawa Reds' run at their second J. League championship took a hit as their top scorer Shinzo Koroki was diagnosed with a fractured fibula, the J1 leaders said Monday.

Koroki suffered the injury when he was kicked by Kashima Antlers' Daigo Nishi in Sunday's 1-1 away draw, and had to be substituted in the 86th minute.

Koroki had started all 30 league games for Reds this season, netting 12 goals. According to a source close to the striker, Koroki is aiming to return for the Nov. 22 home game against second-place Gamba Osaka.

Reds are three points ahead of Gamba with four games left in the season. Urawa travels to face Yokohama F. Marinos on Nov. 3, with Gamba at home to Vegalta Sendai a day earlier.
