Kashima Antlers forward Davi will miss the rest of the J. League season after being ruled out for eight months with a damaged anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee, the team said Monday.

Davi suffered the injury during the second half of Kashima’s 3-2 home defeat to Kashiwa Reysol on Saturday. The Brazilian had been Antlers’ top scorer with 10 goals in 25 league appearances.
