Cordoba, which will be promoted to Spain’s top league for the 2014-2015 season, has acquired the services of Japan international Mike Havenaar on a two-year contract, with an option for a third.
The La Liga club made the announcement Monday on Havenaar’s transfer from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.
The 27-year-old Havenaar, who started his career with Yokohama F. Marinos and moved to Vitesse in January 2012, also had spells with Ventforet Kofu, Sagan Tosu, as well as Avispa Fukuoka. He has made 78 appearances for Vitesse for the last three seasons and scored 26 goals.
Havenaar, who was born in Hiroshima to a Dutch father and mother, has 17 caps but did not make the squad for the World Cup finals in Brazil. His father, Dido Havenaar, was a goalie in the J. League top division.
