Boxer Takashi Miura made a successful first defense of his WBC super featherweight title with a win by unanimous decision over top-ranked Mexican Sergio Thompson on Saturday.
Miura twice knocked down Thompson in 12 rounds winning 113-112, 114-110 and 114-111 in Cancun, Mexico.
Miura improved his record to 26 wins (19 knockouts) against two losses and two draws.
