TRONDHEIM, NORWAY – Sara Takanashi missed out on a fifth consecutive World Cup ski jump victory Friday, finishing second to American Sarah Hendrickson in Trondheim, Norway, at the season’s penultimate event.
The 16-year-old Takanashi, who has already secured the overall World Cup title, landed the day’s longest jump of 105 meters and followed it up with a 100-meter effort. Her points total of 274.9 fell shy of the 283.0 posted by Hendrickson, who received higher marks for her landings.
