Rikako Morita edged out overnight leader Hiromi Mogi to claim her first win of the season at the Miyagi TV Cup Dunlop Ladies Open on Sunday.
Teeing off one shot back in a tie for second, the 22-year-old Morita reeled off six birdies and a bogey in a 67 to finish two strokes ahead of Mogi at 14-under 202.
Morita, who won her first career title at the 2010 Hisako Higuchi Ladies, pocketed ¥12.6 million in prize money.
"All I can say is I'm delighted," said Morita. "The key was that I kept my cool and didn't panic. There are still more tournaments to be played and I will keep on doing my best."
