NPB eyes posting change

Japanese baseball will approach Major League Baseball about changing the posting system after talks between Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma and the Oakland Athletics ended in failure over the winter.

At NPB’s executive committee meeting on Monday, Rakuten, which put Iwakuma up for bidding this past offseason only to see him come back for another year, proposed allowing the three highest bidders from the majors to negotiate with any posted player.
