TILBURG, Netherlands (Kyodo) Defender Michihiro Yasuda tasted defeat on his debut for Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday as his side went down 1-0 at bottom club Willem II in the Dutch first division.
Rangelo Janga's 26th-minute goal proved enough to finally secure Willem its first Eredivisie victory of the season, but Yasuda was upbeat despite the disappointment of getting off to a losing start.
"I've taken the first step," said Yasuda, who played the full 90 minutes at right back. "I think I'll be OK if I can keep playing like I did in the second half."
