SEOUL (Kyodo) Former major league 18-game winner Park Chan Ho said Tuesday he will return to starting pitching with the Orix Buffaloes.

"I'm being counted on to start for Orix," said the 37-year-old South Korean right-hander who has left the majors after 17 seasons, nine of them with the Los Angeles Dodgers. "I hope I can come through for them, no matter what."

Park split this past season with the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Pirates, going 4-3 with a 4.66 ERA in middle relief. In October, he won his 124th game, breaking Hideo Nomo's Asian record for most victories in the majors.
