GUANGZHOU, China (Kyodo) Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu of Japan defeated 2009 world champion Mehdi Taghavi Kermani of Iran in the men’s freestyle 66-kilogram final to win the gold medal at the Asian games on Wednesday.

Yonemitsu scored a 2-0 victory over Kermani. Kazuyuki Nagashima settled for the silver in his match against world silver medalist Sadegh Goudarzi of Iran in the men’s 74-kg final.

“I put everything I could into that match,” Yonemitsu said. “This is the result. Until I win a gold at the Olympics I can’t relax,” he said.
