Hiroyuki Hisataka will challenge Hugo Cazares for the WBA super flyweight crown in December, the Japanese fighter's gym announced Thursday.

Atsumi Boxing Gym said the 25-year-old Hisataka, ranked eighth in the WBA flyweight division, will take on the Mexican champion in Osaka on Dec. 23.

Hisataka (19-9, eight KOs) will fight in his third world title bout since May 2009.

"Hopefully the third time will be the charm, especially in my hometown," Hisataka said. "I'm not thinking about anything else aside from being a world champion."

The 32-year-old Cazares defeated Nobuo Nashiro in May to win the super flyweight title.
