BURGHAUSEN, Germany (Kyodo) Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa set up the opening goal as Borussia Dortmund cruised into the second round of the German Cup with a 3-0 win away to third-division side Wacker Burghausen on Saturday.

Playing in his first competitive game for the Bundesliga outfit, Kagawa exchanged passes with Jakub Blaszcykowski before crossing from the right for Lucas Barrios to head the visitors into the lead with just four minutes gone.

"There were plenty of players waiting in the box so I tried to get a good ball in," said Kagawa. "Of course I need to be involved in the goals but it's a shame. I would like to have scored one myself."

Neven Subotic doubled the lead on 12 minutes and Kevin Grosskreutz put Dortmund out of sight with the third 10 minutes into the second half.

"My body felt heavy and it was a difficult game but I'm glad we won," said Kagawa.
