TENDO, Yamagata Pref. (Kyodo) Tomotaka Kitamura was on target for the second game in a row as Montedio Yamagata snapped Albirex Niigata's 11-match unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win in the J. League on Friday night.

Kitamura, who scored the match-winning goal in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat of Jubilo Iwata, struck 10 minutes before the interval at ND Soft Stadium as the home side withstood late pressure from the visitors to hold on for maximum points.

"It is unusual for me to score two games in a row," said Kitamura. "We have won again and kept a clean sheet again and that shows we are on the up."
