GRENOBLE, France (Kyodo) World Cup-bound midfielder Daisuke Matsui scored one goal and set up the other as relegated Grenoble drew 2-2 at home to Sochaux in the French first division on Saturday.

Matsui released Danijel Ljuboja with a clever pass and the striker fired Grenoble level after Ideye Aide Brown had given the visitors a 27th-minute lead.

Grenoble then went on front on 63 minutes, Matsui slotting home from close range after Mathieu Dreyer had saved Nassim Akrour's header, but Sochaux hit back to take a point 16 minutes from time when Jeremie Brechet turned in Benjamin Gavanon's free-kick at the near post.
