J. League leaders Kashima Antlers rebounded from their shock midweek defeat to Vissel Kobe with a comfortable 3-1 win over FC Tokyo on Sunday.

Danilo set the wheels in motion after five minutes at Kashima Stadium before fellow Brazilian Marquinhos grabbed his ninth goal of the season to double the lead midway through the first half. Substitute Yuya Osako added a third before Cabore responded with a late consolation for the visitors.

Kawasaki Frontale stayed within eight points of the reigning champions with a 2-0 win at home to Montedio Yamagata courtesy of first-half goals from Hiroyuki Taniguchi and Yusuke Tasaka.

With 11 rounds left to play, Antlers have 50 points, Frontale have 42, while Shimizu S-Pulse, 5-1 winners over Jubilo Iwata in Saturday's Shizuoka derby, are another three points back in third.

In the day's other game, three goals in the last 17 minutes from Yuki Maki, Keiji Tamada and Magnum saw Kawasaki's Asian Champions League quarterfinal opponents Nagoya Grampus come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Gamba Osaka.

Kashima got off to a perfect start as Danilo bundled in Toru Araiba's pass, and much-traveled striker Marquinhos made it 2-0 with a clinical finish on 22 minutes.

Osako put the game out of reach with 12 minutes left when he headed in after Shuichi Gonda had blocked Marquinhos' close-range effort.
