SINGAPORE (Kyodo) Japan beat Singapore 45-15 on Saturday to wrap up its Asian Five Nations campaign with a perfect 4-0 record for the second year in a row on Saturday.

Japan retained its crown on May 16 after hammering South Korea 80-9, and Hitoshi Ono put it on the way to another comfortable win with a try after five minutes.

Japan touched down three more times and led 26-3 at halftime before three more tries after the break put the icing on the cake for John Kirwan’s men.

The winner of next year’s tournament will automatically book a berth in the 2011 World Cup.
