KAWANISHI, Hyogo Pref. (Kyodo) Yui Ueda jumped out to a four-stroke lead at the Tsuruya Open by shooting an 8-under 63 in the first round on Thursday.

Looking for his second career win and his first since the 2007 Token Homemate Cup, Ueda had an eagle, seven birdies and a bogey at Yamanohara Golf Club.

Australian Brendan Jones, Tetsuya Haraguchi and Kaname Yokoo had 67s to share second place.
