KUWANA, Mie Pref. Australian veteran Craig Parry matched the day's best round with a 5-under 66 to move into a three-way tie for the lead at the halfway point of the season-opening Token Homemate Cup on Friday.

Parry had six birdies and a bogey to finish the second round at 7-under 135, along with Michihiro Matsumura and Tadahiro Takayama, who posted rounds of 67 and 68, respectively.

Yui Ueda shot a 66 and is one stroke behind the leaders at Token Tado Country Club in Mie Prefecture.

Five players were two more shots back in fifth place, including former U.S. PGA regular Shigeki Maruyama (68) and overnight leader Tetsuya Haraguchi (73).

Ryo Ishikawa matched par for the second day in a row and dropped into a tie for 42nd. Defending champion Katsumasa Miyamoto missed the cut by one stroke.
