The Chiba Lotte Marines are hoping to acquire Cuban outfielder Juan Muniz, who has experience playing in the minor leagues, the Pacific League club said on Monday.
Team sources said that the 33-year-old Muniz has played for the Cuban national team and will join Lotte as a non-roster player. Muniz will have until the end of July to attempt to make the 70-man roster.
