OSAKA (Kyodo) Boxer Nobuo Nashiro said Monday he will fight 10th-ranked compatriot Konosuke Tomiyama in his first defense of the WBA super flyweight crown.

Nashiro, who won a split decision by the thinnest of margins over Kohei Kono for the vacant title last September, will fight Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation champion Tomiyama at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium on April 11.

Nashiro improved to 12-1, including seven knockouts, after his win against Kono. Tomiyama, who will be taking his first crack at a world title, has an 18-1 record with six KOs.
