World junior champion Yu Horiuchi captured her first title in the 51-kg category at the Wrestling National Championships on Sunday.

The 17-year-old Horiuchi, who won at the World Junior Championships in Istanbul in July, defeated Yuri Kai by fall in the final at Yoyogi National Gymnasium.

In other action, Kunihiko Obata brought his total of national titles to eight, beating Atsushi Matsumoto by fall in the 84-kg freestyle final.

Obata has won three straight at 76 kg in 1999-2001 and four in a row at 74 kg from 2002-05.

Kazuyuki Nagashima extended his 74-kg title streak to three with a 2-0 decision against Hiroki Kayamori in the final.

In Greco-Roman competition, Norikatsu Saikawa, Katsuya Kitamura and Atsushi Nakamura won their first 84- 96- and over 120-kg titles, respectively.
