Brazilian striker Bare is set to leave Gamba Osaka to join Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates, officials of the J. League club said Tuesday.

"Bare asked me to allow the transfer saying he's been offered a lucrative deal. I want to release him on good terms," Gamba club president Kikuo Kanamori said. An official announcement will be made within days.

Bare is second in the J. League this season with 10 goals, two behind Marquinhos of Kashima Antlers.

He has scored 44 goals in the first division and 71 goals in the second division since he began playing in the J. League in 2001.

Bare will become the second player to leave Gamba after defender Hiroki Mizumoto, captain of Japan's Under-23 national squad for the Beijing Olympics, moved to Kyoto Sanga in June.
