Coach Yasuharu Sorimachi on Tuesday handed in-form Kashiwa Reysol midfielder Minoru Suganuma his first Japan Under-22 call-up for the upcoming Olympic qualifier away to Syria.
Suganuma, who has scored four goals in five league matches so far this season for league-leading Kashiwa, was named to the squad that could reach the final round of qualifiers for next year's Beijing Games with a win in Damascus on April 18.
