Japanese teenager forward Sho Ito said Sunday he will join French second-division club Grenoble. Grenoble general manager Kazuyoshi Tanabe had revealed a day earlier that a basic contract agreement has been reached with the 18-year-old Nagoya high school student.

Ito, who has taken part in training with Grenoble as well as English Premiership club Arsenal in the past, has played for Japan’s Under-19 squad and had also drawn interest from a number of J. League clubs.
