The J. League said Tuesday its 2007 season will be from March 3 through Dec. 1 for both the first and second divisions.

The first division will enter a six-week break from around June 30 as national team members play the Asian Cup finals to be cohosted in July by Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.

The first division will resume its schedule on Aug. 11.

Details such as matchups and venues will be announced in late January.

The A3 Champions Cup, an annual event featuring league champions from Japan, China and South Korea, is scheduled for June 7, 10 and 13 in China, with 2006 J. League champions Urawa Reds representing Japan.

The Xerox Super Cup between the league and Emperor's Cup champions, a traditional curtain raiser to the new season, will be held at National Stadium in Tokyo on Feb. 24, a week before the season opening.

A J-League All-Star match will be played Aug. 4 at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa.
