KYOTO – Ventforet Kofu clinched a spot in the J. League relegation/promotion playoff with Kashiwa Reysol after a 2-1 win at second-division champions Kyoto Purple Sanga on Saturday.
Brazilian defender Alair headed home the winning goal in the dying minutes as Kofu moved on to 69 points from 44 matches and finished the J-2 season in third place, one point clear of Vegalta Sendai.
