Yusaku Miyazato, Shigeru Nonaka and Daisuke Maruyama shot 4-under-par 67s to share the lead after the opening round of the Fujisankei Classic on Thursday.

Miyazato, elder brother of Japan LPGA star Ai Miyazato, made an eagle and four birdies through his first 14 holes but dropped two shots later in his round to lose sole possession of the lead at Fujizakura Country Club. Nonaka and Maruyama matched each other with six birdies and two bogeys as the joint leaders stand one shot in front of Taiwan's Lin Keng-chi, Masaya Tomida and Azuma Yano on a crowded leaderboard.
