ALMELO, Netherlands – Under-20 striker Sota Hirayama signed a three-year deal Thursday with newly promoted Dutch side Heracles Almelo, sources close to the player said.
The Athens Olympics striker has been reportedly guaranteed the minimum salary of 340,000 euro (47 million yen) allowed to players from territories outside the European Union.
Hirayama will join the team as soon as he is able to obtain a working visa and take a leave of absence from Tsukuba University where he has been enrolled for two years.
