Australian Scott Laycock took sole possession of the lead by two shots after firing a 2-under-par 70 in the second round of the Sega Sammy Cup on Friday.

Laycock, who is aiming for his second victory on the Japanese tour since winning the 2002 Bridgestone Open, made four birdies, featuring three in his last six holes before making the turn, en route to an 8-under 136 total.
