KAKEGAWA, Shizuoka Pref. – Veteran archer Hiroshi Yamamoto, silver medalist at the Athens Olympics, won his eighth individual title and first in two years at the National Championships on Sunday.
The 42-year-old Yamamoto beat Ryuichi Moriya of Kinki University 106-103 in the men’s final at Yamaha Resort Tsumagoi in Shizuoka Prefecture, while Sayoko Kawauchi beat Mayumi Asano 101-96 in the women’s final to win her first national crown.
