Fukuoka Daiei Hawks infielder Tadahito Iguchi was unable to reach a conclusion on Friday after holding talks with the Pacific League club about a possible switch to the major leagues through the posting system, team sources said.

Iguchi, who negotiated with club president Hiroyuki Takahashi, is scheduled to hold further talks with team officials next week but stressed that his strong desire to play in the majors remains unchanged.

"Next week I plan to continue the talks but it will probably be the last time we meet," said Iguchi, who hit .333 this past season with 24 homers and 89 RBIs.
