Shiyo Nakamura hit a game-tying two-run homer and Yoshinori Ogawa cleared the bases with a ninth-inning double as Chukyodai Chukyo rallied to beat Urawa Gakuin 6-4 at the National High School Baseball Championship on Friday.

Nakamura's eighth-inning blast tied it at 2-all at Koshien Stadium before Ogawa put the game away for the Aichi school with his clutch hitting in the second-round match against the Saitama school. In other second-round games, Yuya Shibata rebounded after allowing three runs en route to a seven-strikeout complete-game effort, leading Nara's Tenri to a 9-3 victory over Fukui.

Hiroki Makita hit a two-run homer in a three-run third inning and pitched three-hit ball over eight strong innings as Shimane's Hamada thumped tournament newcomer Suzuka of Mie Prefecture 8-1. Yamaguchi's Iwakuni, which reached the final eight of last year's summer tournament, scored twice in the first inning without producing a hit and held off Asahikawa Kita by scoring the final run against the Hokkaido school in the ninth for a 6-3 victory.
