HINTERZARTEN, Germany – Noriaki Kasai secured a podium finish after placing third at the World Cup Summer Grand Prix ski jumping competition in Germany on Saturday.
Kasai completed a jump of 105.5 meters on his first attempt followed by a leap of 106 meters on his second effort at the K-95 normal hill for a total of 275.5 points.
Adam Malysz of Poland recorded the day’s longest jump of 110.5 meters in the first round and went on to win the event with 277.5 points.
Austria’s Thomas Morgenstern came second with 276 points.
