Veteran Chihiro Nakajima shot a 4-under-par 68 to take a one-shot lead over in-form teenager Ai Miyazato after the first round of the Apita Circle-K Sunkus Ladies on Friday.
The 40-year-old Nakajima made five birdies before three-putting for her only bogey on the 16th hole at Nakatsugawa Golf Club to set the early pace ahead of last week's Suntory Open winner Miyazato, who closed in a four-way tie for second.
