AUGUSTA, Ga. (Kyodo) Shigeki Maruyama and Toshimitsu Izawa both missed the cut at the Masters on Friday, leaving no Japanese player in the final two rounds of the major tournament for the first time since 1998.

Izawa, who placed fourth in his Masters debut in 2001, finished 75th with an 8-over 152 and was eliminated from the tournament at Augusta National Golf Course for the third straight year while Maruyama was 79th, a stroke behind.
