Grand champion Asashoryu held strong to claim overall victory by beating fellow Mongolian Asasekiryu on Sunday at a sumo exhibition tour in Seoul featuring the elite makuuchi division.
The hothead yokozuna lost a battle to Asasekiryu in the final but won the war with a shove out of his Takasago stablemate in a playoff between the winners of the two-day meet at Chamsil indoor gymnasium in Seoul.
