Akira Higashi recorded the day's best jump of 139 meters on his second try to win the UHB Cup for the first time in two years and the third time overall on Saturday. Higashi collected 275.4 points for his jumps of 126.5 and 139 meters on the K-120 Okurayama hill in Hokkaido, while Daito Takahashi was second with 236.7 points for leaps of 128 and 116 meters. Noriaki Kasai, who placed second in a World Cup ski jumping event last weekend for Japan's highest finish on the circuit this season, finished third with 235.5 points behind jumps of 121.5 and 121 meters.
