Japan's Takehiro Kashima captured the horizontal bar gold medal on Sunday, the final day of the World Gymnastics Championships, to add to his win on the pommel horse a day earlier.

The 23-year-old Osaka native, who shared the pommel horse title with China's Teng Haibin to become the first Japanese in 20 years to win an individual discipline, collected 9.775 points for victory.

Italy's Igor Cassina placed second with 9.750 while third place went to pre-event favorite Alexei Nemov of Russia with 9.737.
