Japanese money rankings leader Yuri Fudo clung on to her share of the lead after carding a 1-under-par 71 in a fog-interrupted second round at the NEC Karuizawa 72 golf tournament on Saturday.

Fudo, aiming to become the top earner on the Japanese women's circuit for the fourth season in a row, two-putted for bogey on the second hole before thick fog delayed play for an hour and a half at Karuizawa Golf 72.

She recovered to make birdie putts on the 10th and 17th and heads into Sunday's final round tied with veteran Ikuyo Shiotani, the only other player from a group of five overnight leaders to keep first place, on 4-under 140. Shiotani, who is seeking her 20th career title put together four birdies -- three straight from the 13th -- before dropping her third shot of the afternoon on the 18th for a 71.
